The Star Program
The Star Program is a initiative that was established in 2009 to show a horses' breeding worth. The number of stars denote the horses' value as a breeding sire or dam, and the more stars a horse receives, the more highly recognised and valued by the RBHA the horse is. Stars are awarded to horses who have shown excellence in quality, performance, and offspring production. They can be achieved at any time, as long as the horse has met all necessary requirements for each individual category.

Horses who have earned a Star may add the symbol "¤" behind a horse's name to denote it's breeding value, as such: Horsename¤¤¤¤. Owner may use the number of stars equal to those earned by the horse. These stars may not be used while entering shows in order to keep "clutter" in show results down, but it may be used everywhere else (eg. Riata Database, webpages, advertisements etc).

Listed below are the requirements needed to achieve a star.
NB: The term "championship title" consists of any title that can be won from a Riata show:
Season, Series, Show, Champion, Reserve Champion, Honorable Mention, Consistency Award, Trophy, Top __ of show
